Functional Genomics Service (SEGEFUN)

SEGEFUN

The Functional Genomics Service (SEGEFUN) is a Service attached to the General Research Services of the ULPGC and to the University Institute of Biomedical and Health Research (IUIBS). The objective of this Service is to provide support and advice in genomic analysis. In addition, this Service will also provide the necessary teaching support in those university disciplines that require it. Currently, the Service has all the necessary equipment to perform gene expression analysis by microarrays, genomic editing with CRISPR/Cas9 and flow cytometry, as well as the necessary bioinformatics support for gene expression analysis (microarrays and RNA-seq) or epigenetic analysis (ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&RUN-seq or scRNA-seq). The incorporation of this new service provides the ULPGC and external research community with access to new methodologies currently demanded in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology or pharmacogenetics, and to the development of much more innovative research.
